An occupational health and safety (OHS) management system aims to protect employees and their surroundings from unforeseen circumstances that pose a health risk. It explains the management-specific procedures and processes that the company has implemented to prevent hazardous incidents and mitigate their impact.
It covers the following tasks: organisation and staffing, identification and assessment of the risk of impending incidents, monitoring of activities, safe implementation of changes, emergency planning, testing of the capabilities of the occupational health and safety management system and systematic review and evaluation.
