Organizations are increasingly focused on achieving integrated management system implementation. Integration brings many benefits: clear and coordinated responsibilities and division of tasks, providing a better overview of the entire system within the organization, and consequently, cost optimization. The question is not whether integration is the right path—consensus already exists on this issue—but rather how to build an optimal and integrated structure, resulting in systems and their respective system components at various levels interlocking, ensuring continuous improvement towards excellence.
Integrated audits
Norms and standards, legislation, and regulations offer a huge variety and range of models in the areas of quality, environment and safety, risk, and many other areas. Based, for example, on the ISO 9001 framework, organizations have developed environmental management systems in accordance with ISO 14001 and/or EMAS, health and safety management systems in accordance with ISO 45001 (formerly BS OHSAS 18001), SCC, and SCP, or are currently implementing them. Furthermore, a wide range of sectoral standards have been created with requirements or guidelines tailored to specific target groups.
Integrated audits are a means of certifying integrated management systems. Not only can combining models significantly reduce effort, but they also allow for a much broader perspective on the company, allowing for even more useful recommendations for its further development.
Most auditors qualityAustria, as auditors or assessors, are appointed in the scope of several standards or models, representing competences in the field of integrated management systems in each audit.
In Austria, the entire field of integrated management is presented and practiced during courses qualityAustria on a highly effective basis, demonstrating how to configure optimal integration while simultaneously implementing each separate system effectively and efficiently. The training concept is based on qualityAustria's goal is to explain integration approaches, meaning those system elements that form a common foundation for all management systems. The training concept utilizes ten specific integration approaches, such as documentation, process methods, and tools, to name a few. These topics are summarized and presented in many of our courses, including:
- Integrated management system – requirements
- Integrated management system – methods and tools
- Integrated management system – strategy and organization development
With a focus on educating system managers in quality, environmental, or health and safety, the training program has been expanded to include thematic courses to address specific issues and provide in-depth insights. This ensures we are always ready to provide specialized training to address the specific needs of each area.
Modular courses
A particular advantage of this modular structure, first defined in 2006, is that the training content can be considered common to any certification system, whether for quality, environment, or health and safety. In addition to these popular integrated courses, only two specific training courses are required to obtain a specific certification. This means that you benefit from integration in terms of recognizing the training content during the training.
Benefits for the organization
Participants will benefit from this program's practical application by learning how to connect different management systems and effectively implement their integration within an organization. They will be able to manage common system elements while also taking into account specific requirements and responsibilities. This allows them to avoid developing disparate solutions and create management systems that provide optimal support for organizational development.
Integrated certificates
Upon successful completion of all three thematic areas of quality management, environmental management, and occupational health and safety management, participants receive the "Integrated Systems Manager" or "Integrated Systems Auditor" certificates free of charge upon request. This procedure is also linked to the European Organization for Quality through the issuance of the "EOQ Integrated QEHS Systems Manager" certificate.
