VDA 6.3 is a guideline for conducting effective process audits, which are required by a large number of OEM customers in the German automotive supply chain. It focuses on process audits from the product development phase through to the mass production phase.

This course is designed to provide an introduction to the process-based approach to auditing. It will help you understand process auditing and provide guidance on how to apply it. You will learn about the requirements and concepts of auditing and gain an in-depth understanding of how to use the VDA 6.3 questionnaire.
This is a two-day (16-hour) practical training course, during which:

• You will gain comprehensive knowledge of the working methods of both internal auditors and so-called ‘second-party’ auditors (who carry out audits at suppliers’ premises), taking into account the requirements of the German Automotive Industry Association (VDA)
• you will become familiar with the requirements set out in the VDA 6.3 manual and learn how to interpret them
• you will gain an understanding of the product life cycle in accordance with VDA
• you will familiarise yourself with the risk analysis in the automotive sector
• you will find out what skills and qualifications auditors are required to have
• you will understand what the process-based approach to auditing involves
• you will learn how to plan an audit of new suppliers, sites or technologies using VDA 6.3
• you will practise using the VDA 6.3 questionnaire
• you will gain practical skills in preparing and conducting a process audit in accordance with VDA 6.3
• you will learn how to draw up factual and comprehensive reports following a process audit in accordance with VDA 6.3
• you will learn how to effectively initiate and/or evaluate measures taken by the company or supplier aimed at improving its performance, based on the findings of the audits carried out
• You will confirm the knowledge and skills you have acquired by obtaining the „Internal Process Auditor according to VDA 6.3” certificate”
